0.3.4 Release - February 23rd, 2008

Features
+ Completely free, licensed under the GPL.
+ Clean, simple article URLs for pages are used.
+ Fast interface - not bloatware.
+ Extensions engine for adding additional "missing" features to the Quate CMS.
+ PHP 4 and 5 intercompatible. Also operating system intercompatible.
+ Supports multilingual pages for websites that need different pages with different translations.
+ Customizable: The main Quate CMS interface is so simple, you can't tell a website is using the Quate CMS. And we don't require a link back to ours site. It's your site, not ours. Just make it look different than other people's websites.

Requirements
In order to install the Quate CMS, your server that will be hosting the Quate CMS must have the following requirements.
PHP 4.3.x or higher.
MySQL 3.x or higher. (Has only been tested with MySQL 4.x and 5.x.)
If you do not know if you meet the requirements, the Quate CMS installer will check for itself first. If it doesn't give you an error, you've met the requirements.
On the client side, we highly recommend you to have javascript enabled. If you don't know if you do, you probably do. Additionally, you'll want to have a browser that supports alpha transparency. This only concerns you if you are using Internet Explore or an IE based browser. Try Firefox instead, which supports this transparency. We created the admin panel in mind with most browsers, except Internet Explore, because it doesn't display websites nearly as well.

Project History
This project was started in late 2005 when one of the Quate team members created a simple system to be used for managing a website. It had one goal: it had to be simple enough for anyone to be able to manage and customize their website.
This version ended up being our 0.2 series, which had an extraordinary amount of issues. Another Quate developer started to help out. Thus we produced version 0.3, which was much more stable, simpler, and yet more customizable. Now, everyone from the Quate team is starting to contribute, as it grows into a stable, intercompatible CMS.
In January of 2007, we released version 0.3.1. 0.3.1 added a categories system which can be used by pages and by other extensions, admin panel skinning/theming managing, among quite a few other changes.
Version 0.3.1 was repackaged several times (small changes/bug fixes). But things were forgotten when repackaging, resulting in installations not working, etc. So version 0.3.2 was released in order to clear up all the confusion and get a working version back out.
We released 0.3.3 on February 16th, 2007. This release fixed several bugs with the installation process, and other issues. It was a long-lived stable release, until version 0.3.4 succeeded it at year later.
